APPLICATION by e-mail: drustvo.akademskih.glasbenikov@gmail.com filled application and consent form. It is necessary to attach proof of the candidate's year of birth and identity, as well as proof of payment of the donation.

 

CATEGORIES AND PROGRAMME

 

“YOUNG CHAMBER MUSICIAN“

 

(from 2 to 5 members, all strings, all combinations, could be with piano)

Category I (up to 21 minutes)

up to 15 years of age (average age of members)

  • two contrasting movements of a cyclical work from the baroque or classical period

  • one movement of a cyclical work from the romantic period

 

Category II (up to 39 minutes)

from 15 to 20 years of age (average age of members)

1st round

  • two contrasting movements of a cyclical work from the classical period

  • two contrasting movements of a cyclical work from the romantic period

2nd round

  • one movement or a piece from a 20th century composer; no more than 15 minutes

(20th century composers e.g. Shostakovich, Prokofiev, Stravinsky, Rachmaninov, Arensky, Bartok, Debussy, Ravel, Elgar, Janaček, Grieg …)

 

The age average of all members of the chamber group is used to determine the category

“YOUNG VIOLINIST“

 

Pre-category (up to 7 minutes)

up to 10 years of age

  • one etude by choice

  • two pieces

 

Category I (up to 11 minutes)

from 10 to 12 years of age

  • one etude by choice

  • two pieces of different character

 

Category II (up to 19 minutes)

from 12 to 15 years of age

  • one etude by choice

  • a piece of choice by a composer from the competitor’s country

  • first movement of a concerto or two pieces of different character

 

Category III (up to 25 minutes)

from 15 to 18 years of age

  • one etude or capricce by choice

  • one movement from a piece composed by J. S. Bach

  • a piece of choice by a composer from the competitor’s country

  • first movement of a concerto or two pieces of different character

 

Category IV (up to 37 minutes together)

from 18 to 20 years of age

1st round

  • one etude or capricce by choice

  • one movement from a piece composed by J. S. Bach

  • a virtuoso piece

2nd round

  • a piece of choice by a composer from the competitor’s country

  • first or third movement of a concerto or variations (with cadenza)

”YOUNG CELLIST“

Pre-category (up to 7 minutes)

up to 10 years of age

- one etude by choice

- two pieces

Category I (up to 11 minutes)

from 10 to 12 years of age

- one etude by choice

- two pieces of different character

Category II (up to 19 minutes)

from 12 to 15 years of age
